Our Mission

Located in northern most piney hills Union Parish on the Arkansas line and in the center of Louisiana’s sportsman’s paradise resides Community Memorial Garden Cemetery (CMGC), the 1841 public Historic Cemetery on Vergie Page Drive, Farmerville, LA. The 1841 CMGC Historic Cemetery is the final resting place of prominent early settlers(September 22, 1841- 1870’s), Veterans from World War I, World War II (1886-1900’s) and Vietnam War (1955-1975).

It is the mission of the Friends of the Community Memorial Garden Cemetery to recognize and honor those buried there, to design and execute a landscape restoration plan, and to beautify and maintain the landscape to the standards of a certified historic grave site, and to promote environmental stewardship. The Friends of the Community Memorial Garden Cemetery will secure the funds, report historic findings, and hire the necessary staff to continue the ongoing project.
